We take the time to get to know you, your hair and your skin in a consultation of your choice. Consultations are usually then followed by a trial run with the look you've created. Ashlyn has been the owner of Concept Salon for the past 5 years and has been doing makeup for almost 15 years. As an industry veteran by birth she has grown up in her mothers salon so understanding clients needs was instilled in her early. Her career began working with real women everyday to achieve a flawless look that makes them feel like a better version of themselves. With an extensive wedding background she is skilled in beauty makeup, airbrushing, mature skin, and male makeup as well as the avant-garde.
Ashlyn has been published Locally, Nationally and Internationally, Giving her a full understanding of lighting and the effects the environments have on the makeup. 3 years at MAC provided the behind the counter experience of matching a wide variety of skin tones ensuring her abilities cross all ethnicities.
As the Hair and Makeup liaison for The Big Hair Ball benefiting the families of family services of the piedmont, she is always striving to give back in any way she can.
What you need to know
Pricing may vary dependent on your service needs, this will be determined upon your consultation. Concept Salon requires a $200 non-refundable retainer to hold your wedding date that WILL be applied to your final price, as well as a credit card on file that WILL NOT be charged unless you give less than a 4 week notice of cancellation. Your remaining balance is due on the day of your wedding. We take cash, credit card, Venmo and all forms of digital pay.
Concept Salon requires a 4 week notice of cancellation or the entirety of your agreed upon original price may be subject to be paid. All cancellations of bridal party must be given within 72 hours of wedding day or you will still be charged the full agreed upon amount.
Adjustments must be given 72 hours in advance.
How to arrive
Caroline's passion for the art of your hair is what drives her. Her ability to see exactly what will look best for your hair on your wedding day is like her special power. She has an attention to detail that adds beautiful elements to your style.
Although multi-talented with her behind the chair work (ie: color, cutting etc.) , styling was her true calling. Attending the Aveda Institute of Chapel Hill wasn't for the same reason most people go to cosmetology school, she went to school for the styling.
After cosmetology school she interned in Orlando Florida at one of Walt Disney Worlds premiere approved salons, therefore certifying her as a Disney Bridal Stylist.
Having traveled world wide for her education, going to London and Paris she found herself training with advanced Bridal Specialist Lena Bogucharskaya who's styles you see most on pinterest!
Her skill truly speaks for itself and we know you will love your hair!
Kris began her career early in life. Entering a hair competition for Up-Do's while she was still in high school, won her a full scholarship! After beauty school she began working in some of the top salons in Greensboro and styling hair for the wedding runways of Belk and 5.7.9 leading the way in the bridal world for years.
Her career spans 40 years and she has the wisdom of all wedding needs. Focusing on clean, polished and sophisticated looks she's the best at the the most difficult of styling requests.
Kris has trained in New York and is a certified Loreal Stylist. With her years of knowledge she brings the comfort of knowing you will get the best style for your wedding day!
Your Trial
- Please arrive with a neutral shirt on that best matches your dress, It will help you visualize the look as you will be on the day instead of how you are on the daily.
- Bring veil, all hair pieces, attachments, extensions and embellishments with you to your trial. If you have yet to get your desired pieces, let us know when you purchase them and we will let you know if it is something that will change your hair. Although unlikely it may require a second trial.
- We do offer hair extensions and will be happy to get you more information. If you are using extensions that are not from our salon please let us know what type they are before your trial
Your Wedding Day
- Please arrive with clean freshly cleaned and moisturized skin. A light exfoliator the night before will help improve the skins blood flow and give your skin a better radiance on the day of your wedding, If you see you do not have a reaction of redness from the exfoliator, you can also do it the morning of.
- On average we ask that everyone arrives with hair washed the day before the wedding day. During your consultation we will go over your hairs history and if it usually holds a curl well. At that time we will establish a proper method of care for your hair.
- Please wear a shirt that is easily removeable as to not disturb your hair and makeup after it is applied
- Please inform us of all allergies at least 24 hours before the wedding day.
